Our tanks are made of stainless steel, but there is no such thing as perfect welding, minor errors and contamination may occur. Corrosion can develop at the place of the defects, to prevent this, so-called we recommend an active anode. This is a magnesium rod. The anode prevents rusting by corroding instead of the tank itself, so sooner or later it will run out. That is why it is important to periodically check the anode and replace it if necessary.

The diameter of the magnesium rod itself is 20 mm, the length is 29 cm, the total length is 31 cm.

Magnesium anode is an electrochemical component often used in solar collectors, especially those types where the collectors are connected directly to a water heating tank.

A magnesium anode is a rod made of magnesium. This anode is located inside the solar water tank and is connected to the solar system. Its main purpose is to prevent corrosion in the water tank, which results from electrochemical reactions between the hot water and the walls of the metal tank.

When the solar collector heats water using solar energy, the temperature difference between the water and the metal tank and the presence of the electrolyte (water) on the anode could cause corrosion on the tank wall. However, the magnesium anode, as an electrode, is preferentially more susceptible to corrosion than its metal frame, so it serves as a "victim". The magnesium anode essentially breaks down during the electrochemical reactions, but thereby protects the water tank from corrosion.

It is important to note that different types of solar collectors may use different materials for the anodes, such as aluminum or zinc. The material used depends on the composition of the water, the material of the tank and other factors. Proper installation and maintenance is very important for efficient operation, as anodes can wear out over time and need to be replaced from time to time.
