The 120-plate heat exchanger, model Ba-115-120, was the largest plate heat exchanger with a surface of 13.8 square meters until recently. However, the manufacturer now also offers larger models with 120 plates and a larger heat exchange surface in this series.

The Ba-115-120 heat exchanger is connected in counterflow mode.
When the device whether connected for heating or cooling, it is important to remember that this is a classic counter-flow heat exchanger. This means that, regardless of which channel is chosen for the power connection and which for the other side, the fluids flowing through the heat exchanger must flow countercurrently, i.e. in opposite directions. Forgetting or neglecting the principle of counterflow is one of the most common connection errors, which manifests itself in heat exchangers not being able to achieve efficient performance. According to our estimates, a heat exchanger connected in so-called co-flow (the opposite of counter-flow, i.e. both fluids flow in the same direction) loses about 30-40% of the heat transfer efficiency. Unless, of course, it is a special exchanger adapted to co-current connections, which has a specially designed channel arrangement.
